Falcon Black FeatherMay 23, 2011
Recently, Whirlwind Black Feather is more commonly played than earlier in this restriction, whereby it was mainly Vayu build.
There are not many changes compare to last restriction list but just updating due to restriction on various cards. The most notable change is probably the use of Forbidden Chalice, which is partly due to the ruling on priority.
I came across a Falcon build which differs more than the norm.
3x Mist Valley Falcon
3x Blackwing – Shura the Blue Flame
3x Blackwing – Bora the Spear
1x Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow
3x Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North
1x Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind
1x Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor
1x Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite
1x Dark Armed Dragon
1x Monster Reborn
1x Black Whirlwind
1x Book of Moon
3x Pot of Duality
3x Forbidden Chalice
1x Allure of Darkness
1x Deck Devastation Virus
1x Seven Tools of the Bandit
1x Solemn Judgment
2x Solemn Warning
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Royal Oppression
1x Delta Crow – Anti Reverse
3x Fiendish Chain
2x Icarus Attack
Side Deck: 15
2x D.D. Crow
2x Mystical Space Typhoon
2x Puppet Plant
2x King Tiger Wanghu
2x Dimensional Prison
1x The Transmigration Prophecy
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
1x Nobleman of Crossout
1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
Extra Deck: 15
1x Blackwing Armed Wing
1x Blackwing Armor Master
1x Blackwing – Silverwind the Ascendant
1x Tech Genus Hyper Librarian
1x Inverz Roach
1x Chimeratech Fortress Dragon
1x Gemknight Parl
1x Scrap Dragon
1x Stardust Dragon
1x Dark End Dragon
1x Black Rose Dragon
2x Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth
1x Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1x Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Compare to a typical build, it adds in 3x Mist Valley Falcon instead of Spirit Reaper and BF-Sirocco. Falcon and Sirocco will contradict each other slightly as only one can be summoned. I had seen an almost similar build with 2x Falcon and 1x Sirocco, which makes Vayu less useless when you draw into it.
Falcon is a Winged-Beast type, which gives it more synergy with Icarus Attack. Fiendish Chain is another addition to flow with Falcon as they form a tiny combo. After Fiendish Chain has been activated on one of opponent’s monsters, Falcon can then use its effect to return Fiendish Chain to hand. Then, Falcon can attack that monster (Att<2000), and set Fiendish Chain again to form a small loop.
Another minor difference about this deck is that it runs 2x Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth instead of one, which is due to the player’s preference for Deck Devastation Virus.
Sometimes I just wonder if Black Feather ever disappears from the metagame.
